Three-dimensional trademark owned by LEGO recognized as well-known in Ukraine
The Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation (IP Office) has recognized as a well-known in Ukraine a three-dimensional (three-dimensional) trademark in the form of a minifigure belonging to the Danish company Lego Juris A/S (part of the LEGO Group).
This three-dimensional minifigure is a part of LEGO constructors, created in 1978 and recognizable by many generations. It is a miniature reproduction of a person with a characteristic design of form and execution.
The LEGO minifigure is offered for sale separately within the Minifigures thematic collection line and is part of LEGO constructor sets of various thematic series.
As stated in the decision of the Appeals Chamber of the IP Office, this three-dimensional TM is widely known among Ukrainian consumers and has received recognition in the relevant sector of society.
To date, 244 trademarks have been recognized as well-known in Ukraine, and for three of them such status was granted in 2025.
Kyrgyzpatent started issuing trademark and patent certificates in electronic form
On 13 February 2025, the State Agency of Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) announced, that it started to issue security documents for intellectual property objects and patent attorney certificates in electronic form.
Thus, the trademark and patent certificates issued in electronic form become the original copies of the documents without a need to print them.
